If anyone thinks that this particular debate involving both transgender policy and medical procedures is going away any time soon, allow me to assure you that it isn’t. The latest tale of this type comes to us from the Richard J Kinsella Magnet School in Hartford, Connecticut. A school nurse by the name of Kathleen Cataford who was working there was discovered to have answered some questions about the school from inquiring parents on Facebook. Part of the information she revealed about her school was that there were a number of children who were identified as being “non-binary” and at least one 11-year-old female student was on puberty blockers. She claimed that in many cases, the children’s parents were unaware of their child’s “non-binary” status and the information was being deliberately withheld from them. She further described the school administration as being “gender confused.”

Once this information came to light, complaints were made, but not about the intrusive and secretive nature of the school’s administration. Instead, complaints were lodged against the nurse for discussing it. She was promptly suspended as a result and may be facing termination. (Daily Mail)

Kathleen Cataford, who worked at the Richard J Kinsella Magnet School in Hartford, was axed from her role Monday over the post, which was branded transphobic.

Writing on a local mom’s group in response to a request for local school recommendations, the 77 year-old said: ‘Investigate the school system curriculum…CT is a very socially liberal, gender confused state,’ the post read.

It continued: ‘As a public school nurse, I have an 11yo female student on puberty blockers and a dozen identifying as non-binary, all but two keeping this as a secret from their parents with the help of teachers, SSW [social workers] and school administration.

Curiously enough, one of the parents lodging a complaint was the mother of the 11-year-old girl in question. But she wasn’t complaining about her daughter receiving these treatments. She was upset that the information was being made public on social media. Apparently, the mother was perfectly fine with this dangerous medical practice taking place, but wanted the “snitch” who was telling other parents about it to be punished. And she got her wish.

It’s becoming more and more difficult to fight this sort of insanity since significant segments of the medical community (though not all, thankfully) have begun abandoning accepted medical practices and giving in to the demands of the woke transgender movement. The fact that this trend is spreading deeply into our public school systems is equally disturbing.

I don’t care if I’m beating a dead horse here, but we will simply point out for the umpteenth time that the FDA has never approved the use of the gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonists used as puberty blockers for the treatment of gender dysphoria. They are approved to treat precocious puberty, which can cause serious problems in children in the thankfully rare cases where it shows up. Studies have been commissioned, but there won’t be any final results for some time. We should also remember that the normal onset of puberty is a critical juncture in the healthy development of children, where hormones trigger a series of complicated changes that advance the normal development of their bodies toward adulthood. Messing around with that in the name of “gender awareness” or whatever should be a criminal offense.

And then there’s the issue of the schools not only recognizing but encouraging this trend of gender-bending and claiming to be “nonbinary” while hiding that information from the students’ parents. This is abhorrent. Once again, do you know who tells children things like “don’t tell mommy and daddy because this is our secret?” Pedophiles do. These teachers and administrators are adults, or at least they are supposed to be. They should know better. And the parents deserve to know what’s going on in the lives of their children.
