Rubio would like DHS to explain why illegal alien rapists are being kept in the country

Earlier today, Karen explained how Ken Paxton and others in Texas are going to be fighting back against Joe Biden’s plan to essentially “abolish” ICE and our border protection assets by putting a halt to all deportations for the foreseeable future. But it’s not just the Lone Star state that’s pushing back on this impending disaster. Florida wants to get in on the action also. Marco Rubio is calling out the incoming head of Homeland Security, demanding answers as to what they plan to do about criminal illegal aliens who are already scheduled for deportation. And he’s not being particularly subtle about it, either. (Free Beacon)

Sen. Marco Rubio (R., Fla.) is demanding the Biden administration’s Department of Homeland Security explain its decision to end the deportation of illegal immigrants, which could include those convicted of violent crimes, rape, sexual assault, and other felonies.

Rubio calls for immediate clarification on a directive issued this week mandating “an immediate pause on removals of any noncitizen with a final order of removal,” in a letter sent Friday to David Pekoske, acting secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. Rather than deporting illegal immigrants, DHS said on Wednesday it will focus on processing immigrants along the Southern border and rebuilding “fair and effective asylum procedures that respect human rights and due process.”

Rubio’s concerns cover a variety of areas that will be impacted by Biden’s reckless policies. Proven, dangerous criminals could have their stay in the United States lengthened, perhaps indefinitely if Joe somehow offers them amnesty. He also addresses the question of what this flurry of executive orders rolling back Trump administration immigration policy will mean in a broader sense. What does Joe Biden plan to do about the ongoing border crisis? Thus far he hasn’t said a single word about that, focusing instead on granting the wishes of the far left.

Even with all of the progress made over the past four years, we still haven’t entirely dealt with the massive backlog of cases in our immigration courts. And with Open Borders Joe attracting new caravans to our southern border, we could be back to the bad old days of 2016 in a matter of months or even weeks.

We always knew (and tried to warn people) that Joe Biden’s facade of being an “aw shucks” centrist hiding out in his basement all of last summer was a hoax. Once elected, he would feel obligated to repay his party’s socialists and liberals who helped drive out the vote for him after swallowing their disappointment in being unable to nominate either Bernie or Elizabeth Warren. That prophecy has been coming true by the bucketful with every new stack of executive orders Biden is handed to sign.

I’m not even sure if he’s reading them (or remembers what they said) but they still have essentially the force of law in this country until someone with standing can try to bat them down in court. One thing is clear, however. We are about to take a huge step backward in the battle for border security. Don’t try to claim that you weren’t warned.
