If Ilhan Omar and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez were worried that they wouldn’t have enough liberals on their side after Omar’s ongoing series of antisemitic comments, they can put their fears to rest. The hot new socialist crew now has one of the biggest liberals around (both physically and influentially) on their side in their battle with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Filmmaker Michael Moore has decided to throw his considerable weight into the arena on Team AOC’s side. (The Hill)
Liberal activist and filmmaker Michael Moore slammed Speaker Nancy Pelosi Monday after she appeared on CBS’s “60 Minutes,” saying the California Democrat’s “old tired privileged ways are over.”
Moore included a clip from Pelosi’s interview in his tweet where she said that the progressive left flank of the House Democratic caucus, including freshmen such as Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), is “like five people.”…
Moore has been an outspoken critic of President Trump since his election.
He has claimed Democrats were partially responsible for the president’s win, saying they “actively depressed the vote” by not nominating candidates more different from Trump.
Here’s the tweet that drew all the attention to this spat. The lack of self-awareness is truly stunning.
White people. Nobody likes giving up power. And they never see the writing on the wall. The new day arrives and no one has the heart to tell them they and their old tired privileged ways are over. https://t.co/jAGjzEjLgp

“White people. Nobody likes giving up power. And they never see the writing on the wall. The new day arrives and no one has the heart to tell them they and their old tired privileged ways are over.”
There are a couple of things about Moore’s tweet that someone might want to point out for him. First of all… “white people?” Yes, yes, we all know white people are the worst. But has Michael Moore looked in a mirror lately? Dude looks a little on the melanin-deficient side to me.
And… “old?” Yes, Nancy Pelosi is certainly no spring chicken at 79. But Michael Moore is 64 years old himself. (I’m younger than Michael Moore and I’m nearing retirement.) So it’s rather ironic to hear the Bowling for Columbine creator talking about people not realizing when their time is over. When was the last time Michael Moore put out a movie that was seen by more than roughly fifty people?
Of course, none of this would even be worth bringing up if it weren’t for the entertainment value. Both parties go through these internecine struggles when power is up for grabs. In 2016 it was the GOP’s turn in the barrel. The Democrats had a primary of their own, but it was pretty much always a binary choice between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders. People could pick a side and ride out the storm. The Republicans, as you may recall, had quite the circus going on and liberals, particularly in the media, had a field day poking fun at all the infighting.
Now the shoe is on the other foot. There will technically be a Republican primary (thanks, Bill Weld!), but we already know who the general election candidate will be. The Democrats, however, have a clown car that’s already sagging under its own weight. And you’ll probably be seeing plenty more food fights like this one erupting now that AOC and her “like five people” socialist crew have been added into the mix. Enjoy!
