If you’d like a peek at what will happen in the United States if you let the social justice warriors in the Democratic Party take over complete control of the government, just take a look at what’s going on in Great Britain today. Over across the pond, Kate Scottow, a mother of two, got into an online spat with Stephanie Hayden, a male attorney who “identifies” as a woman. During that kerfuffle, Scottow referred to Hayden as a man and used male pronouns in reference to him. (The same way I just did.)

What happened next could have been ripped from the pages of a dystopian fiction novel. In December, the police arrived at Scottow’s home, arrested her in front of her two children, took her to the station and locked her up for seven hours. She remains under investigation to this day and the police are refusing to return her phone and her laptop.

The 38-year-old, from Hitchin, Hertfordshire, had her photograph, DNA and fingerprints taken and remains under investigation.

More than two months after her arrest on December 1, she has had neither her mobile phone or laptop returned, which she says is hampering her studies for a Masters in forensic psychology.

This is what can happen when you live in a more socialist-oriented country lacking the constitutional protections we enjoy in the United States. (Or at least we enjoy them for now.) The police responded to requests for comment by saying they “take all reports of malicious communication seriously.”

Yes, you read that correctly. They identified Scottow’s transgression as “malicious communication.”

Just for the moment, we can cast aside the normal questions about people who are so far into denial of basic science that they believe there are more than two genders or that people can switch their biological nature because of their feelings. Even if you were to accept such ideas, the reality here is that the police in England have arrested someone for saying something they believe.

How much longer will it be before crowds of liberal activists in London are out in the street burning piles of old high school biology books that identify the human race as having two genders, each required for natural procreation of the species? More to the point, how long will it be until such a societal infection crosses the pond and makes its way to America? It’s already been discussed in some cities, with proposed fines for “misgendering” people. There’s nothing but the courts standing between us and the insanity currently gripping Great Britain. And given the attitudes of some of our judges over here (looking at you California and the Ninth Circuit) I’m unsure how much protection they will offer before long.
