Video: At Berkeley, safe spaces are out. "Spaces of color" are the new hot ticket

I’m not saying it’s time to burn down the universities, but

This week’s higher education update comes to us once again from Berkeley, so you know this probably isn’t going to end well. The “safe space” movement, formerly thriving on campuses around the nation, seems to be in danger in California. Some Berkeley students don’t seem to find the idea of protection from offensive conservative ideas to be enough these days. Now there need to be spaces where white students can’t impose on the safety of minorities by virtue of their mere presence. (Fox News)

Left-wing students at the University of California, Berkeley are protesting again. This time, however, these students are calling for “safe spaces” for transgendered people, as well as “spaces of color” at the University (which they already have).

The protesters are also harassing white students trying to study, barring their path across a key bridge while allowing students of color safe passage.

The protest, which began last Friday, blocked Berkeley’s Sather Gate, disrupted studying students in the Student Union, and blocked traffic at the intersection of Telegraph and Bancroft in front of campus.

This seems to be the real kicker here. We’re no longer talking about special rooms or roped off areas on the quad which are reserved for people with the correct point of view. Now we’ve seen an instance where “protesters” (or thugs, if you prefer) blocked off a bridge at the intersection of Telegraph and Bancroft, telling white students they needed to “go around” while allowing minority students to cross. This is no longer a “protest” in any sense of the word. It’s domestic terrorism.

In this video you can see white students being redirected to climb through a nearby creek bed and over piles of rocks after being denied access to the bridge. One man attempted to make his way through the blockade only to be shoved up against the bridge abutment by a couple of lurking “guards” who were monitoring the traffic.

Perhaps even more shocking was the fact that the police were on hand to monitor the protests and they appear to do absolutely nothing to stop this disruption of traffic and scattered assaults.

This has nothing to do with social justice and is equally unrelated to education in any sense of the word. This is mayhem. So in case you happen to be sending one of your special snowflakes to Berkeley, here’s a quick reminder that the tuition is currently $28,502 per year for campus residents. I certainly hope you’re getting your money’s worth, folks.
