This never, ever seems to work out well for the Democrats, but bless their hearts for continuing to try.

Eager to expand her share of the Hispanic vote in November, the Clinton campaign has announced yet another voter outreach program. This time they’re going to focus on getting illegal immigrants (who can’t legally vote anywhere) to go forth and encourage ostensibly legal, registered voters to support Hillary on their behalf. What could possibly go wrong? (Washington Post)

Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign announced a new Latino outreach initiative Sunday focused on mobilizing young undocumented immigrants to highlight their risk of deportation if Donald Trump becomes president, with the aim of inspiring others in their communities to vote in November…

Clinton’s campaign said the new effort, dubbed “Mi Sueño, Tu Voto” (“My Dream, Your Vote”), will be highlighted at several events around the country this week, including in Florida, Nevada and North Carolina — all states where the Hispanic vote is a growing force.

“We may not have the right to vote, but ‘Mi Sueño, Tu Voto’ will help ensure that our stories are heard, and it will send a clear signal to Donald Trump that we cannot be silenced,” said Astrid Silva, a Nevada immigrant rights activist who is supporting Clinton.

I can hardly wait for this project to get rolling. Sure, it’s possible that they will only be working with younger immigrants covered by DACA and not facing immediate peril from ICE, but what are the odds of the Democrats suddenly becoming competent on that score? You may recall that while I was down at the DNC in Philly I covered the jaw dropping spectacle of Clinton’s team trotting out Francisca Ortiz with her daughter Karla on the main stage. The daughter was born in the United States, but Francisca is here illegally and not covered by any relief program. She is, in short, a criminal, and Section 8 U.S. Code 1324 wags a stern finger at those who harbor and abet such aliens, including providing them with transportation around the country. (Don’t hold your breath until the DNC is prosecuted for it, though.)

Their history of breaking the law with illegal immigrants started long before that, of course. Do you remember the earlier case of Cindy Nava, who was given a job by the DNC Chair, working on the committee’s 2016 message and communications strategy? Yep… she’s an illegal also.

Every time the Democrats trot out this particular brainstorm they wind up shooting themselves in the foot. It’s only by the grace of a White House which not only supports their party exclusively but has no interest in upholding immigration law that somebody at the DNC hasn’t already been tossed in prison. (And you’d think there would be plenty of cells available in the sanctuary cities where they tend to hang out.) It’s only a matter of time before they mess this one up in similar fashion.
