When you tour the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, it’s a sobering look at what we thought was ancient history. It’s especially terrifying to view what life was like during the Nazi reign of terror in the 20th Century and see it all unfolding again in front of our eyes in America and Europe today, let alone what Hamas have been doing to Jews in Israel since 10/7.
As you work your way out of the exhibit, on the wall is the now-famous quote from Martin Niemöller, a German Lutheran pastor who was an early admirer of Nazi politics until he realized what he was supporting in Hitler, and turned into a vocal dissident. He spent the final years of World War II in prisons or concentration camps, and offered up this chilling reminder of why it’s important to speak out against anti-Semitism every time it rears its ugly head.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
In today’s Democratic Party, which has always been sort of an amalgam of different factions that make up the overall mosaic, you have to wonder who will be there to speak for you one day after the party comes for you.

First, the party turned on law enforcement. Once a party that welcomed and embraced police enforcement, or at least the unions that represent law enforcement, the Democratic Party made defunding the police a part of their rhetorical platform after a series of altercations that resulted in the deaths of black suspects like Daunte Wright, George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and others. Many Democrats were silent, because they were not cops.
Then, the Democratic Party came for parents. Once COVID forced the closure of schools and parents got a look at what curriculum was actually being taught, parents began to object vociferously. Democrats’ view was that parents shouldn’t have rights over their kids’ education, and that it’s the job of the state and the unions to do that. Virginia’s gubernatorial victory for Glenn Youngkin was driven largely by suburban Democratic moms who felt betrayed by the Democratic Party specifically on the education issue. Yet many Democrats were silent on this subject because they were not parents.
Next, the Democratic Party came for Catholics. Catholics have historically called the Democratic Party their political home going back to John F. Kennedy. Once now-Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett was nominated, the party began to turn on Catholics. Late California Senator Dianne Feinstein asked her during her Appellate Court confirmation hearings about her Catholic dogma living too loudly within her. The Biden Justice Department and FBI have been caught red-handed using priests and choir directors in the Church to conduct surveillance on the rising threat of “traditional Catholics”, whatever that is supposed to mean. Missouri Senator Josh Hawley raked FBI director Christopher Wray over the coals on this very subject Tuesday in Senator Judiciary.
Many Democrats, though, remained silent because they were not Catholic.
The Democratic Party betrayed Hispanics, a voting bloc that has voted, at least historically, almost monolithically Democratic. But that has begun to change as Democrats declare war on small businesses and ignore the flow of illegal immigrants flowing across the border, both issues that bother Hispanics already here in the country immensely.
Yet many Democrats are still silent on this, because they’re not Hispanic.
Even the Atlantic has recognized that the Democratic Party is taking black voters for granted, and betraying them in the process.
Here’s what President Joe Biden thinks about the diversity of African-Americans.
Blacks are continuing to feel more disaffected and used by the Democratic Party.
Some Democrats are silent on the treatment of African-Americans by the Democratic Party, because they are not African-American.
The Democratic Party has come for the women, too. You might think that because of the Dobbs decision, Democrats believe they will have women in their camp forever. That might be true in the short term, but if you think the party overall cares about women’s rights, think again. They don’t.
Yesterday, the House GOP held a hearing on Title IX, and offered up witnesses talking about the profound unfairness that biological males presenting as females are making a mockery of women’s sports in high schools and colleges all over the country. The Democrats in the House offered up their star witness, Fatima Goss Graves, the president of the National Women’s Law Center. Here’s what she had to say about girls complaining about dudes bigfooting their sports and drinking their milkshake.
Did you catch that? Girls just need to learn how to be gracious in losing to the boys pretending to be girls. Yes, the abortion issue is a powerful weapon that will be wielded by the Democratic Party. But make no mistake. Women’s rights? They are subservient to trans rights in Democratic hierarchy.
I’m sure there are Democrats who in recent times would have been outraged at testimony invited by House Democrats to “just shut up and take a back seat to the men and be happy about it”, but they may not presently be a woman, however that is now defined, so they’re going to be quiet about it.
Now, the Democratic Party has come for the Jews. And before you try to tell me that it’s a small cadre of cranks in the Squad that are the anti-Semites, take a look at the final tally of a simple resolution in the House of Representatives Tuesday calling for a condemnation of anti-Semitism as a body.
95 House Democrats voted to condemn anti-Semitism. Hurrah. 13 House Democrats voted against the measure, meaning they apparently support anti-Semitism. But the killer is 92 House Democrats were there in the chamber and did cast a vote…that they were present. They were too cowardly to take a stand against anti-Semitism, couldn’t bring themselves to support it, so they just voted present. And another 13 took that cowardice to the next level by not even casting a vote at all, even though Congress was in session and they were in town. The Democrats might have had a member or two that were legitimately absent due to illness or travel, but they weren’t down 13. Not a chance. That’s 118 out of 213, or 55% of available House Democrats, a clear majority of the conference, that either supports anti-Semitism or is abetting it by refusing to condemn it outright.
The honest question all Democratic voters have to ask themselves is if a majority of the conference will turn on Jews, if they’re willing to betray women’s rights, if they’re willing to gamble with people of color thinking they have them locked up, what makes you think they’ll never turn on you at some point further down the road? Even the environmentalists are starting to discover that some of their heroes, most notably Greta Thunberg, are more interested in Jew hatred than saving the planet. So who’s going to be there to speak for you when the Democratic Party eventually comes for you?
