NYC to schoolkids at recess: Go out and play in the street

I know what you’re thinking – the headline is total clickbait. Well, it is, except it also has the added benefit of being true. Sit down and hug your kids, folks, because if you’re a parent in New York City, it might be the last time you can.

Everyone knows the border crisis isn’t just a crisis in border states. Thanks to both red state and blue state governors deciding to share the love of the Biden administration’s future Democratic voting drive with sanctuary cities and states, those blue enclaves that proudly claimed they’d be sanctuary zones for illegal migrants, thinking it would never come to this, are now so overrun with illegal migrants that they’re claiming there’s no more room at the inn.

Denver’s mayor, Michael Hancock, said they’re at the breaking point.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul said over the weekend that New York City is bursting at the seams with illegals.

Eric Adams has had himself removed from President Biden’s 2024 advisory group because he seems not to be on board with the whole ‘Let ‘Em In And Pretend We’re Saying Don’t Come’ policy.

What does bursting at the seams look like? Here’s WPIX-11’s report on how the surge of illegal migrants is manifesting itself in some New York City public schools.

So you can forget about the stories of hotels booting wedding parties in order to house illegals. Don’t come to me with stories about how vets are being dislodged in order to handle the influx of people that have no legal right to be here. And you can especially buzz off if you claim to be a Democrat in the mold of Nancy Pelosi who makes every policy decision “for the children”. That’s nonsense. We’ll get to the blowback in just a second, but I’d pay cash money to have been a fly on the wall in the bureaucratic meeting where this idea was floated, and this turned out to be the best idea. Black inner city kids playing in the street during recess was the best plan available.

Where do we begin with the coming fallout from this story? We could spend an entire column discussing the crime stats in New York City right now, and how thinly the police that remain are spread, and how moving kids from behind fenced off playgrounds and onto city streets during playtime may be somewhat hazardous to their health and well-being. Think gangs and drugs, let alone cars and trucks, are a problem? Remove fences separating them from schoolkids. I’m sure nothing at all will go wrong. You’ll notice that nowhere in the solution to the problem of co-housing illegals and schools in the same area is the idea that the illegal migrants can go play in the streets and let the kids in school who actually belong there get priority to play in relatively safe playground. Remember, they shouldn’t be here in the country in the first place. Instead, those that should be in school are treated like Oliver Twist and the Artful Dodger on Feld Lane at lunchtime and recess. They’re street urchins.

I’m sure there will be no racial fallout from this story as a whole lot of inner city black schoolkids are literally being shown the door and asked to go play in traffic while the new preferred Latino illegal families get to use the nice playground. I’m positive there will be no one at all who notices the hierarchy of preferential treatment of identity groups within today’s Democratic Party.

And speaking of identity groups, dodgeball is fun during recess, but Frogger is so much more entertaining for everyone involved. It’s like real life Squid Games. Survival of the fittest. If you’re one of these population control freaks, you love this development. This is what you want to see happen. Only the toughest, fastest and nimble of kids will make it long-term. The rest? Well…

The best part about kids playing in the street? You don’t have to worry about gender inclusiveness. Taxis, trucks and buses don’t treat gender dysphoric kids any different than any other kid. Every child, regardless of their preferred pronouns, has equal opportunity of being run over. Title IX does not apply to vehicular manslaughter.

You’ll notice that parents interviewed for the story, probably not a lot of them lifelong Republican voters, don’t seem too thrilled with this turn of events, and for good reason. The Republican nominee for president, whoever that person might be, has an issue that the Democrats are gift wrapping for them and literally affixing it to the grill of the car. My advice? Forget about 2020. Focus on the issues that matter to real people as a direct consequence of horrible policy decisions the Democrats have made and are continuing to make. Remember, this is Joe Biden’s tone deaf take from this past weekend.

An 80-year old who is at the stage where he’s gumming his soup claiming Everything Is Awesome is not going to resonate to inner city black parents who see their kid literally and figuratively being kicked to the curb. And why would they? So that Biden can backdoor amnesty in a new crop of Democratic voters to ensure this type of treatment continues for generations? Yes, Mr. President. Please run on that plank. I know in my heart that 36% isn’t a floor. It’s merely a trap door on which you’re standing.

If you’re a parent of children directly affected by blue city/state policies as nutty as this, keep in mind that it doesn’t have to be this way. You know what states don’t force their citizens’ children into the streets to play? All of them that do not have Democrats running them. Vote accordingly. In the meantime, until you have a chance to throw the bums out, keep in mind the eternal advice of Patches O’Houlihan – dodge, duck, dip, dive…and dodge. It might just save your kids’ life.

As for Joe Biden and the Democrats staying the course with an unsustainable policy on the border, I’m more inclined to share in the analysis of Pepper Brooks. “It’s a bold strategy, Cotton. Let’s see if it pays of for ’em.”
