Totally coincidentally and not at all related to the topic at hand: We have 93 days until the presidential election. 

But that has nothing to do with the White House putting a stop to a controversial fraud-ridden program that allowed tens of thousands of migrants from four countries free entry to the US. It's only because the Department of Homeland Security just recently detected massive fraud taking place. Trust them!

The Biden administration has put a controversial program that allows tens of thousands of migrants from four nations to fly or travel directly into the U.S. on hold, after a report circulated internally showing significant amounts of fraud in the program.

The Department of Homeland Security confirmed to Fox News Digital that "out of an abundance of caution" it has temporarily paused the issuing of advance travel authorizations for the program -- which allows up to 30,000 nationals from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela (CHNV) to travel into the U.S. each month and enter legally under the administration's use of parole if they meet certain conditions.

The program began in 2022 as a pet project of Joe Biden and his border czar Kamala Harris, apparently as a way to treat the "root causes" of mass migration from Venezuela. The next year, the Biden administration expanded the program to include mass migration from Cuba, Haiti, and Nicaragua. The program imported 30,000 migrants per month through this parole program at the same time that the Biden-Harris border crisis created 242,000-plus encounters with illegals on the southern border in November 2023 alone:

The CHNV program didn't solve the problem; it only added to it. That's why Ron DeSantis demanded a stop to it when it initially came to light:

The White House response claimed that this eliminated the coyotes and other human traffickers, but that's absurd on its face. Human trafficking on the border remained at historically high levels all during this program because Biden and Harris never took effective action to secure the southern border, nor did they impose any disincentives for illegal entry. The kept using catch-and-release policies all the way up until May of this year, when Biden and his campaign realized that the border and immigration crisis could cost him the election.  

So what kind of fraud took place in the CHNV program? All of the fraud that one could have predicted, and which Harris apparently didn't anticipate in her work as border czar:

Parts of the report shared with Fox News Digital by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), a conservative immigration group, showed that 100,948 forms were filled out by 3,218 serial sponsors -- those whose number appears on 20 or more forms.

It also found that 24 of the 1,000 most used numbers belonged to a dead person. Meanwhile, 100 physical addresses were used between 124 and 739 times on over 19,000 forms. Those addresses included storage units. One sponsor phone number was submitted on over 2,000 forms, and there were 2,839 forms with non-existent sponsor zip codes, according to the leak.

Ahem. Are we to believe that DHS couldn't have spotted these basic issues in real time? Of course they could, but they didn't really want to stop fraud. They wanted to import massive amounts of migrants any way they could get away with it.

That's what makes this supposedly sudden discovery of fraud worthy of a Captain Louis Renault award. They are shocked, shocked that human traffickers simply adapted to new opportunities that Biden, Harris, and Alejandro Mayorkas provided them. 

And the only reason this program got suspended now is that Democrats want to put distance between this massive fraud and Kamala Harris, despite her leadership on precisely these issues. The CHNV program was supposed to address the "root causes" of the border crisis, precisely the portfolio Biden handed Harris in March 2021. This program followed within months of that assignment and kept running in parallel to the worsening conditions at the border. Harris certainly never intervened to correct either one. Democrats hope that a suspension of the program will allow the stink to stick to Biden alone.

Well, good luck with that. Kamala Harris claimed the Biden record as her own this very week in challenging Donald Trump to a debate. That includes this debacle, as well as plenty of other issues specific to Harris herself:

We need to see many more ads making her record of failure and incompetence -- and in this case, flat-out fraud -- clear to American voters who are sick of the sieve that Biden-Harris made of the southern border.
