Getting COVID accountability: The Amiable Skeptics featuring Adam Baldwin!

The media and the technocrats have begun warning that a new round of COVID interventions will shortly become necessary. Should we listen to them — when they got almost everything so wrong the last three years? Social media platforms may not be interested in accountability, but Adam Baldwin certainly is, and he will certainly not comply with the suggested COVID II: Lockdown Boogaloo either. “They’re going to appeal to their own authority and expertise, and they’re going to be much more science-y about it,” Adam says. “Well, screw that. Not complying, not gonna do it.” And just how do we finally get some accountability for three years of authoritarian incompetence?

Welcome back to our VIP video series “The Amiable Skeptics,” featuring my friend Adam Baldwin! Adam is well-known for his long and storied Hollywood career, starting with My Bodyguard, and especially for his roles in Full Metal Jacket, Firefly, its film sequel SerenityChuck, and The Last Ship.

Highlights from today’s episode include:

  • “The experts clearly didn’t know what the hell they were talking about the entire time this was going on,” I say. “Masking didn’t help. And yet we’re starting to talk about mass mandates again.”
  • And even the data that so-called ‘experts’ produced and used was bad, and still is, I continue, because after three years the CDC collects correlative data rather than causative, an issue I’ve been raising for over two years. “A year and a half ago, the CDC finally admitted that they had this problem and they were going to fix it,” I point out, “and they still haven’t fixed it. What does that tell you? It tells you that they’re hanging onto this correlative data because it’s easier to scare people with it.”
  • How realistic will ‘resistance’ be in a COVID II: Lockdown Boogaloo scenario? Color Adam skeptical, at least somewhat. “Let’s say that 20% of the population is still convinced of the entire Covid religion. These people,” he says, “working with media and big tech, combined with daily propaganda from Covid might be enough to overcome a large portion of the public that swears they will not comply this time.”
  • On the other hand, Adam does have an amusing scenario to consider if mask mandates return. “Say you’re going into a grocery store again, your favorite grocery store, and the manager says you have to wear a mask. You say no, what’s your enforcement policy? They won’t really have an answer,” Adam says, other than “to say well, you can’t shop here, you can’t you can’t buy that food. “And then you’ll say, well, what’s your shoplifting policy?”
  • We then move on to accountability, not just for the bad pandemic management and “expert” incompetence, but the instinct to strip liberty from Americans rather than prioritize it. “It goes to his historical ignorance,” Adam points out, “because lockdowns had never been tried before in any pandemic.” Before COVID, quarantines had only been used on “only those that were exhibiting symptoms,” not entire populations. And that screams for accountability from everyone who made that choice — and want to do it all over again.
