It's time to get Clinton and the rest of the Democratic field on the record about #PPSellsBabyParts

On Tuesday, America’s largest abortion company was found to be harvesting fetal parts for a tidy profit. Within days, other abortion industry atrocities were revisited, the House initiated a congressional investigation of Planned Parenthood, and the cry for Planned Parenthood’s defunding became front-page news.

Front page news, that is, if you’re not Hillary Clinton or the rest of the 2016 Democratic presidential field.

According to the main page of Clinton’s campaign website, there has been exactly one thing worth putting out in a press release (the site doesn’t appear to have a news/media page): Her plan to strengthen the economy by raising the job-crushing minimum wage, raise taxes on the wealthy, and encourage immigrant lawbreaking, among other measures.

As far as I’ve seen, none of the four Democratic candidates have made a single peep about this enormous controversy that covers human rights, federal law, good use of taxpayer dollars, and big profits.

It’s time for a Paul/Perry/Walker/Fiorina team-up to see if Clinton and the rest of the thus-far silent Democratic presidential candidates will denounce Planned Parenthood’s practices — or, like House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and several other House Democrats, dismiss acts that are probably illegal and certainly morally horrifying.

Here’s how Operation Get Democratic Candidates on the Record would work:

1. Any time a GOP presidential candidate is asked for their opinion on abortion by a mainstream or liberal media reporter, host, pundit, etc. that candidate should simply take a line from Senator Paul:

Why don’t we ask the DNC: Is it OK to kill a 7-pound baby in the uterus? You go back and go ask Debbie Wasserman Schultz if she’s OK with killing a 7-pound baby that’s just not born yet. Ask her when life begins, and ask Debbie when she’s willing to protect life. When you get an answer from Debbie, come back to me.

Substitute “Debbie Wasserman-Schultz” for “Hillary Clinton” or “Bernie Sanders,” and add in “harvest fetal parts,” and Part 1 of Operation Get Democratic Candidates on the Record is complete.

2. If a media person continues to press the candidate, turn it around as deftly as former Texas governor Rick Perry did with Mark Halperin:

MARK HALPERIN: Governor, I’d like to ask you a couple of questions about Planned Parenthood. There’s a controversy swirling around that you’ve weighed in on. First, I’d like you to say, does Planned Parenthood do anything, provide any services that you think are valuable, and if so what are they, and second, why are you so troubled by this video?”

RICK PERRY: Well, Planned Parenthood does give some services which I would suggest are good for women’s health, but —

HALPERIN: Which ones, Governor? Can you be specific on that?

PERRY: Oh, I think some of the cancer screenings, some of those types of screening are obviously good for women’s health. But when you look at the overall picture of what they do, they are, they’re in a business that people of Texas have a conern about.

And Mark, let me ask you, You looked at that video and you’re good with it?

HALPERIN: I think the video raises a lot of questions and you and others have raised them.

PERRY: It does indeed. And I think you just answered the question for us. Thank you.

3. If the candidate still cannot get the reporter to go talk to Clinton, Sanders, O’Malley, and Chafee, or if the candidates refuse to answer questions about Planned Parenthood’s harvesting of fetal parts, then pull a Scott Walker and simply refuse to answer non-critical questions until the Democratic candidates speak up.

4. If rinsing, washing, and repeating Steps 1 through 3 don’t work, then it’s time pull out the big gun: Carly Fiorina.

Like any good conservative, I despise identity politics. But Fiorina has run a fairly effective campaign as the anti-Clinton in the GOP race, largely because they are the only female presidential candidates in their respective parties. And it’s time to use that for the good of the GOP and America.

If Steps 1 through 3 don’t have the media in enough of a tizzy to force an answer out of Clinton, Sanders, and the rest, then perhaps the GOP field should do a joint press conference, with Fiorina leading the way. Decry the media as sexist for pegging the GOP with questions, but not Clinton. Demand that Clinton speak up in defense of the unborn girls slaughtered, and that Sanders decry the billions-dollar industry that is fetal part harvesting.

According to POLITICO, Republicans on Capitol Hill are (finally) seeing political advantage in promoting the life and humanity of the unborn. This focus will only last as long as the advantage does, which means the abortion industry’s evil practices — including the incineration of dead babies for energy and the use of aborted children for beauty products — must stay front-and-center for the foreseeable future.

Shutting down most media access to the GOP until the Democratic field is on the record about fetal parts should accomplish that nicely.

Of course, this whole strategy is predicated upon the largely pro-life GOP field putting aside their differences and personal aspirations to work together. I’d like to think the fates of millions of babies would be reason enough to do that.
