Pro-Palestinian Protest at Holocaust Museum?

Do they think this is going to go over well?

The new “grasstops” activist group, “Doctors Against Genocide,” is advertising a protest to be held on Thursday at the Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C.

I’m sure they thought the idea was clever–tying the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza to the mass slaughter of Jews in Germany, but I suspect most people won’t see the parallels they want to draw.

Since the attacks on Israel perpetrated by Hamas–a group that makes no bones about its intent to commit genocide against Jews and proclaims as much every moment they can–the Left has been inverting the truth and claiming that Israel’s war against Hamas is an act of genocide.

I poked around the group’s website and was impressed at how spare it is with actual information. As with many grasstop groups, there is no attribution; it is just a group of “healthcare professionals” with no information about who they are. The one news story I read about the group refers to them in precisely this way–no names, no information. Just the bare bones from a press release that the group exists and works with pro-Palestinian Democratic Congresswomen Cori Bush and Rashida Tlaib. There is this one bit I could find elsewhere:

The planned protest at the Holocaust Museum–assuming it doesn’t get called off due to backlash, which seems possible–appears to be scheduled to take place within the museum itself. The group will be distributing tickets for the activists who show up.

Whatever shock effect such a protest would create might gather attention to the group, but more in the way that Stop Oil protests in art museums and on streets generate anger, not sympathy. The purpose of the Holocaust Museum is to remind people of the spectacular evil of antisemitism and other forms of prejudice. Given Hamas’ commitment to the destruction of Israel and the elimination of all Jews around the world, the echoes of Nazi propaganda are impossible to ignore.

The founding document of Hamas is extremely clear about the organization’s genocidal intent. There is zero ambiguity:

The Islamic Resistance Movement is one of the links in the chain of the struggle against the Zionist invaders. It goes back to 1939, to the emergence of the martyr Izz al-Din al Kissam and his brethren the fighters, members of Moslem Brotherhood. It goes on to reach out and become one with another chain that includes the struggle of the Palestinians and Moslem Brotherhood in the 1948 war and the Jihad operations of the Moslem Brotherhood in 1968 and after.

Moreover, if the links have been distant from each other and if obstacles, placed by those who are the lackeys of Zionism in the way of the fighters obstructed the continuation of the struggle, the Islamic Resistance Movement aspires to the realisation of Allah’s promise, no matter how long that should take. The Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him salvation, has said:

“The Day of Judgement will not come about until Moslems fight the Jews (killing the Jews), when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Moslems, O Abdulla, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him. Only the Gharkad tree, (evidently a certain kind of tree) would not do that because it is one of the trees of the Jews.” (related by al-Bukhari and Moslem).

These are the people that “Doctors Against Genocide” stand with, and the intend to spit in the eyes of every Jew while protesting in the Holocaust Museum.

In doing so they won’t be drawing parallels between today’s war in Gaza and the genocide of Jews in Germany; they will be reminding people that Hamas shares the same goals as the Nazis did in Germany: the extermination of Jews.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see the protest canceled; while the people in charge of Doctors Against Genocide may not understand that their invasion of the Holocaust Museum will only harm their cause, the people backing them probably do.

On the other hand, These are people who see “liberation” in acts of rape and murder, so perhaps they will go forward. In a way, I hope they do, not because the acts won’t be painful for so many Jews, but because every time these evil people open their mouths, they remind the world just what the Israelis are fighting.
