It’s hard to keep the number straight, but in 3 days somewhere around 10,000 illegal aliens have arrived at the shores of Lampedusa, a small island off the coast of Italy. 7000 arrived in one day, and almost all of them were young men. These are not families fleeing war and famine, needless to say.
Lampedusa has about 6000 residents. Needless to say, this is not sustainable.
And to top things off I’ve been reading where the leaders of Western countries saying “We must take them in. We have to get them off that island!” Why- why MUST we take them all in. Why can’t we send them back? Surely all those MEN could enrich their own countries.

It’s like a scene out of a dystopian movie.
Since January around 125,000 migrants have invaded Italy, with only 1,00 moving on to other EU states. Italy is bearing the brunt of the EU’s policy, and is getting fed up.
The EU has pledged to ease the burden on Italy by transferring migrants from Lampedusa to other member states, as well as stepping up outreach to the migrants’ countries of origin to negotiate returns.
But ahead of a visit to Rome on Monday, French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin said France was not preparing to accept migrants from Lampedusa, despite von der Leyen calling for EU countries to do so under the EU’s so-called voluntary solidarity mechanism.
“We must protect the European Union’s external borders and, above all, immediately look at asylum applications,” Darmanin said.
Last week, Germany resumed its acceptance of refugees from Italy after temporarily suspending the voluntary agreement in response to high migratory pressures.
Around 126,000 migrants have arrived in Italy since the beginning of this year, almost twice more than in the same period in 2022. But since June last year, only 1,159 people have been relocated from Italy to other EU countries.
European Commissioner Vice-President Margaritis Schinas will be tasked with visiting the sub-Saharan African countries where most migrants originate, including Guinea, Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal and Burkina Faso, to negotiate the return of migrants not eligible for asylum in Europe.
This is just insane, to put it bluntly. Western countries have lost the will to defend either their borders or their culture, being steeped in an ideology of self-loathing that is leading us down a path of self-destruction.
Ever since Angela Merkel flung open the borders of the EU European countries have been groaning under the weight of an invasion from the Middle East and Africa. Simply put, the migrants are bringing attitudes and values utterly incompatible with those of the European host nations, and present an economic challenge to countries that cannot absorb the “refugees” at this rate.
Crime has skyrocketed. Sweden, which had gotten its act together in so many ways in recent years, has a crime and bombing (!!) problem. Sexual assaults have skyrocketed in Europe, and France has seen riots in immigrant-dominated areas. This just isn’t working.
Importing hundreds of thousands of unaccompanied men was never a good idea. You don’t have to be a racist to believe that–crime has always been associated with young men, and bringing in millions of unaccompanied young men with few skills, little to no education, and an expectation of getting free stuff was supremely stupid.
Not that the high muckety mucks are paying a price, and until they do they will keep on doing what they are doing.
One little considered consequence of these policies is the risk to refugees themselves. Many die along the way. The solution is to stop the flow of migrants at their source.
Western culture appears to be exhausted. The same process was seen in the late-stage Roman Empire, where immigrant flows were permitted and even encouraged. Immigrants supplanted natives in the legions and became the dominant political force. Rome was no longer Rome, and the rest is history. (Actually, all of it is history).
The Left understands that the inflow of illegal immigrants undermines Western culture and welcomes that; what they seem incapable of understanding is that the invaders are not Leftists. They are simply not Western. What follows from this is not an age of Aquarius, but an age of barbarism.

It’s not that non-Western immigrants couldn’t possibly integrate into our culture; history shows that is quite possible and even healthy. But the quantity of immigrants is too high, the tolerance of uncivilized behavior incompatible with integration, and the policies of our “leaders” make integration harder, not easier. It is a recipe for disaster.
That disaster is shaping up before our very eyes. It is not to come in some distant future; it is here now, and will only get worse.
