All of us have grown to expect world-class inanity from Kamala Harris, so I shouldn’t be shocked to see her photographed with a beautiful little girl who was forced to mask in order to be near the Vice President.

But I admit that I was, at least partly because the photograph was used by the White House’s own propaganda machine to make her seem more relatable. They actually believe, even in 2023, that people won’t look at an unmasked adult requiring a child to be masked and be repulsed.

Symbolicly the photo couldn’t be worse. Die-hard leftists may have developed a mask fetish, but even many of them might be left to wonder why an adult is unmasked while a child is muzzled. At least I hope so.

But even if the diehards don’t flinch, most Independents would. A consensus is developing among those who are not fanatical Branch COVIDians that at least for children the mask mandates and school closures were a horrible idea verging on child abuse. There is a (lamentable) willingness to forgive past failures, but the push to repeat the policies will likely not get a pass for many people.

Yesterday I wrote a piece about how COVID policies were a form of child sacrifice–the “experts” who pushed school closures and mask mandates certainly knew that children would be harmed, yet they didn’t just endorse the policies but lied to the public in support of them.

Politicians like Biden, Trump, and Kamala Harris might be forgiven for trusting these “experts” then, although Kemp and DeSantis proved that even politicians can do a bit of research and come to rational conclusions.

But there is no forgiving a renewed push to torture children and deprive them of a normal life. Everybody has seen with their own eyes the damage that was done to children. There isn’t even any more debate about the issue. And there is no COVID crisis killing thousands of people to cloud our judgment. COVID is infecting people, but not killing them at a great rate. We are near pandemic lows.

But still, they push. Is it the coming election? Mere lust for power? Or do they revel in humiliating people?

I don’t know. Some things are so evil and bizarre that I literally cannot understand them. This is one of them.

We are now into the FOURTH year of the pandemic (2020, 2021, 2022, and now 2023) and there is no excuse at all to be promoting masks for children. Certainly using a photograph of an unmasked adult member of the Elite looking down on a masked child should be instantly recognizable as political poison.

At least I hope it is. If not, our country is already lost. As I said yesterday, this is child abuse.
