Burbank, CA mayor takes an (S&M) beating at Dem fundraiser

What’s the best way to raise money for your county Democrats?

The Mayor of Burbank decided that it was appearing at a fundraiser with a drag queen and getting a bit of naughty spanking from him.

The event was labeled “not suitable for children” under 15, which I have to admit is a pleasant surprise. And while I would have been more impressed if they simply said “minors,” I would have to think that the event was probably tame enough to not exactly scar the sensibilities of any 15-year-old these days.

What is more striking is the insistence that nearly everything having to do with culture or politics has to be sexualized for Democrats. It’s one thing to go to a drag show on a lark, but it is a matter of actual pride for the Left that they celebrate the most outré sexualities. It is fetishistic in itself, this obsession with mixing sex and politics.

Mayor “Spanky” (that is his Twitter handle now, believe it or not) doesn’t seem to be getting any actual sexual pleasure out of his public spanking, so good on him. But Democrats obviously feel that sexual fetishes played out in public must, in principle, be normalized and celebrated.

He is even shaking his booty for money, in a way, given that this is a fundraiser for the county Democrats.

Believe it or not, it doesn’t bother me that one of our political parties speaks up for sexual minorities. In principle. But we are so far beyond that. We are so far beyond the “live and let live” mantra with which I grew up. Even in the 1970s, during my teenage years, sexual mores had loosened significantly (and in the case of divorce, too far) and nobody in my peer group had active hostility to gays.

By 2015 marriage equality was the law of the land in all 50 states, and rather than declaring victory the Left took this achievement as a prod to attack all limits on sexuality in public and break down all sexual norms in society.

The result is pornography in schools, children being taken to parades with open nudity and sadomasochistic displays, and everything we see with alphabet ideology. And, of course, a growing anti-marriage movement where women are propagandized into remaining single and never bearing children.

I don’t know anything about Mayor Anthony’s sexual proclivities and don’t care to. What happens in his bedroom should stay in his bedroom.

Unfortunately, the current Democrat Party position seems to be that what used to happen in bedrooms should happen out in public, and in all too many cases, children should be invited to watch or participate. John wrote about a Democrat candidate for the legislature who live-streamed sex for money.

The reaction of other Democrats? Meh. It’s only sex, and sex is good, which is true.

It also should be private. Is that so hard to understand?

The fact is that the most important argument in our country today has nothing to do with budgets, taxes, infrastructure, or urban planning. It is about what kind of culture we want.
