It’s no secret that Joe Scarborough and most of the MSM crew are condescending snots.
But it still can surprise me when they go out of their way to prove just how much they hate us proles.
Joe, Mika, and Eugene Robinson of The Washington Post did just that on yesterday’s Morning Joe, and once you watch it they will make you want to wretch.
This clip has everything. The snide tone. The anti-Christian contempt (I actually think Mika felt uncomfortable with just how disgusting Joe was being). The sense of moral superiority just oozing from Joe and Eugene’s pores.
It makes you want to wretch. More, it makes you want Donald Trump to win just to rub it in their faces.
Of course, that is a terrible reason to vote for anybody, but the temptation is so great that I understand why so many people seem to be giving in to it.
At issue are the rather surprising results of the CBS/YouGov poll that shows abnormally high numbers of people expressing near-absolute trust in Donald Trump.
By now you know that I think Trump is full of BS much of the time, but I am smart enough to understand that these results don’t actually mean exactly what they purport to. A question like this one–and look at that margin of error–is more a proxy for support for Trump than anything else.
Everybody knows that telling a pollster they don’t trust Trump to tell you what is true will be spun to fit their narrative. I sincerely doubt that most Iowans actually literally believe this.
But that really isn’t the point. What is the point is that Eugene Robinson can declare that Iowa’s evangelicals who support Trump are consigning their souls to hell. Even joking like this is disgusting, and to have MSM figures laugh uproariously about the stupid hypocritical evangelical Christians makes me want to barf.
Conservative Christians aren’t embracing Trump because they believe he is a flawless man; he just seems to be one of the few people in politics who is acting as a voice for their concerns. So when Joe Scarborough and Eugene Robinson laugh uproariously at their support for Trump they are confirming every single suspicion they have that the Elite hate them.
You know they do. I know they do. Trump knows they do. And all the evangelicals who see this clip will be reminded how much they are hated by the jerks who run this country.
Is it any wonder that people want revenge? For decades the elite have ignored the increasingly dire plight of people who are watching their country and their way of life slip away from them. It is galling to have people with multi-million dollar salaries lecture the rest of us about how privileged we are, about how we should live with less, pay more, give up our freedoms, and give up our cars so they can ride in private jets to conferences about climate change.
They spit in our faces and wonder why we don’t ask for more.
