Our schools are not OK

By now everybody knows that our public schools are in crisis.

Test scores have been falling, enrollment has dropped like a rock, and many of the kids graduating don’t have even basic skills.

Yet school boards and teachers are focused on alphabet ideology and pushing pornography in school.

It’s good to know where their priorities lie.

It’s not just in Blue areas either, where you would expect it. Because of the peculiarities of how school boards are chosen (teachers often make up the majority of the vote in the elections) and the selection of people who run the public schools, districts across the nation are focused on race and gender issues far more than basic skills. In fact, many school districts have reduced or eliminated standards for graduation and even reduced advanced programs in order to ensure “equity.”

Equity simply means that everybody graduates equally uneducated.

One of Minnesota’s (formerly) premier school districts in an area that is traditionally conservative is currently going through the same sort of battle that we have seen around the country. Parents are angry that pornographic materials are being shoved at their kids, and school board members are angry at parents for objecting.

The parents are prudish bigots who, if the Biden Administration had its way, would be labeled “domestic terrorists.”

You should watch the whole video–at the end of it they cut off her microphone, but you can still hear her until they demand she stop. But here are some of the quotes from the book she read, if you don’t want to take the time. Several times the school board tried to insist that the material shouldn’t be read out loud because it was inappropriate–which was, of course, the whole point.

“I laid a towel on the sheet in case I bled, and then I watched Seth roll the condom over his penis,” the book reads. “I watched him maneuver his latex-wrapped erection as he pushed and tried to get inside.”

She was talking about worshiping Jesus, but come on, she was talking about sex, right? Sex with Jesus,” the book continues. “That’s what she wanted, to give Jesus head. And I totally understand it. You want to consume the person you love, you want to eat him so he’s inside of you, so he’s apart of you, so he can’t leave. Chewing the flesh and drinking the blood of Jesus every Sunday in church — swallowing Seth’s cum, is it different?”

Another member of the board then appeared to interrupt, saying the content wasn’t “appropriate for a school board meeting.”

Our schools are in crisis. Kids are having trouble reading and writing. Performance at every level and among every demographic is down.

And this is what the schools are doing about it: teaching about how oral sex is like communion.

It’s almost as if they want to outrage parents. As if that is the entire point. To humiliate and shame the normies and then ridicule them as book burners in the media.

The MSM doesn’t tell the public what the fights are about. They portray parents just trying to restore sanity to our public schools as fascists, and the school boards and teachers as saintly people trying to save kids on the brink of suicide.

This isn’t saintly unless you think turning teens into sexual zealots who view blow jobs as the same thing as communion.

This isn’t about sexual preferences, prudishness, or anything else like that. It is about schools abandoning their mission and taking up another. The educational system is on a mission to separate students from parents, destroy the old institutions, and replace them with one that alienates children from family, religion, and any values outside immediate gratification.

I don’t see how the public schools can be saved. They are rotten. It’s not that there aren’t good people working hard to help kids in the schools, but institutionally they are at war with our society and with parents.

Universal vouchers. Let parents choose. If parents want their kids exposed to this dreck, then so be it. But free everybody who objects to go elsewhere without being punished.
