It’s no secret that politicians tend to be liars. It seems to be part of the job description.

The people who rise to the top of the heap fall into one of two categories: the especially good liars, or the rare (mostly) truth-tellers.

That’s because they appear similar: the sincere politician we can trust. We are all desperate for that person, and when we think we find them we latch on to them and they rise quickly.

One such politician is the Democrat House Minority Whip Katherine Clark, a Massachusetts congresswoman who has been serving her constituents since she won a special election in 2013. Caucus Whip is a very prestigious position, which makes her an especially good political player. Lots of her colleagues would kill to have that job.

To give you an idea of just how effective a liar she is, consider this:

Her story is meant to be compelling, and I can assure you that her supporters eat it up. The poor, oppressed little lady came to Congress in 2013 and all the big bad male security folks would try to keep her out. It is the sort of Aaron Sorkin-type morality tale that leftists love to believe, and not a word of it could possibly be true.

Women were common in Congress in 2013 and had been for quite a while. Every congressperson has a pin that distinguishes them as a Member, and every security guard in the building is expected to memorize the face of every congressperson once elected. It’s not like the guards were just letting every man through and excluding every woman.

Oddly, they have procedures to determine who belongs where. Who would have guessed?

None of that matters, since the gender-slander is the point. The whole “girl boss beats the misogynist system” narrative is the point, not the actual truth or falsity of the story. It’s International Women’s Day! Let’s pretend that men can be women and that women are not allowed to rise to power!

The narrative is as tired as it is wrong, and its perpetuation is destructive. It’s the same idiotic attitude that has saddled the country with Kamala Harris as the person who is one heartbeat of an 80-year-old dementia patient away from the Oval Office.

Kamala Harris. God help us.

Of course, every fact-checker in America went into high gear disputing this story, because they are dedicated to holding politicians accountable, right? Right?
