Governor Mike DeWine dropped a truth bomb a few hours ago: he has been in contact with FEMA every day since the disaster in East Palestine unfolded, and the Biden Administration is refusing assistance.
Refusing assistance!
Perhaps this is why Mayor Pete has refused to go to the site of the disaster, and why he has been joking on TV while one of the largest environmental disasters in recent history has been ongoing.
The DeWine Administration has been in daily contact w/ FEMA to discuss the need for federal support, but FEMA continues to advise that Ohio is not eligible for assistance at this time. I will continue working with FEMA to determine what assistance can be provided.

WTF?
Many people have been astonished at how little attention the MSM has given to the ongoing disaster. It appears we now know why: the Biden Administration doesn’t want it to be a big deal, despite millions of Americans being affected now and into the future.
A million pounds of toxic chemicals have been released into the environment–including the watershed that serves millions of Americans. The Biden Administration’s response has been “meh, so what?”
It's been nearly two weeks since a train loaded with toxic chemicals derailed and burst into a raging inferno, and frustrated residents of East Palestine, Ohio, are demanding answers. @billweircnn explains what to know. https://t.co/AqZ2eFMyea pic.twitter.com/WcgZkD5Ile

Cynics have pointed out that the area voted overwhelmingly for Trump. Could that be one of the reasons why the response has been so muted?
Yes, of course. The Biden Administration has been remarkably harsh and vindictive. So yes, yes it could.
Residents of the area rightly wonder why the Secretary of Transportation has not visited the site. I think we can now safely say it is because they just don’t give a damn.
The Mayor of East Palestine DID decide to take questions at the “open house” last night. Resident: Where’s Pete Buttigieg? Where’s he at?
Mayor: I don’t know. Your guess is as good as me. Yesterday was the first time I heard anything from the White House. @LucasFoxNews pic.twitter.com/TXuKFPg9Cx— Dagen McDowell (@dagenmcdowell) February 16, 2023
One thing we do know for sure, though, is that somehow this is Trump’s fault. Because of course it is. Just as inflation is. And absolutely anything else that is bad is. Because MAGAts are bad people.
So bad, in fact, that apparently they deserve to be poisoned.
.@TuckerCarlson: "They never said a word about the mushroom cloud…they didn't even notice. It had nothing to do with EQUITY or CLIMATE CHANGE.
East Palestine is a poor white town that voted for Trump, so…who cares? No one in the Biden administration did care." pic.twitter.com/oNO0UgxrL5

A few years ago it would be inconceivable to me that any president of any party could be so petty and vindictive that he would let American citizens be poisoned simply to get revenge upon them for voting for their opponent. I don’t know beyond the shadow of a doubt that this is the case here, but I do know that I now find it quite believable that this is the case.
It’s easy to imagine a man who gave a speech excoriating half the country and essentially calling them evil could do something so awful.
