Yeah, well, the cries of Leftists were muted a bit when Colorado’s and Arizona’s Democrat governors joined the club, and they were shut down completely when New York City Mayor Eric Adams decided to ship illegal aliens to Canada. It turns out that the bloodlust of liberals declines when they have to attack their own.

It turns out even Trudeau’s Canada–a country that virtue signals like a blue-haired Unitarian minister embracing a drag queen–has a limit to the number of illegal immigrants they will provide sanctuary. And that limit ain’t so high.

The government of Canada’s largest province is demanding that Mayor Eric Adams “immediately” stop helping migrants illegally enter the Great White North, as recently revealed by The Post.

“Any form of assistance to migrants crossing the border where it is strictly forbidden to do so should stop immediately,” a spokesperson for Quebec Premier Francois Legault said.

“We understand that the situation of migrants in New York poses major challenges, but the situation in Quebec and particularly in Montreal is even worse and constitutes an important humanitarian issue.”

Earlier this month, The Post exclusively reported that Adams was using taxpayer funds to get bus tickets for migrants in the Big Apple to travel upstate to Plattsburgh.

Thousands of illegal immigrants stream into the United States each day–amounting to between 5 and 6 million since Biden took office. Canada has to deal with the equivalent of a few days’ worth of US illegal immigration and they cry “Uncle.”

The border crosssings are in Red States for the most part, and nobody in Washington cared, and all the Leftist governors and mayors were reveling in their own virtue until migrants by the hundreds–not millions–showed up on their doorsteps seeking that sanctuary they had been promised.

Suddenly it became a problem. A huge problem. A few thousand immigrants showing up was a crisis for these “sanctuaries.”

Now Canada is complaining about a few hundred a day. Hmmm. Cry me a river, so I can wet my whistle.

As many as 250 migrants use the Roxham Road crossing to illegally enter Canada each day, with nearly all of them settling in Montreal, Quebec’s biggest city, Legault spokesperson Ewan Sauves said.

The situation has overwhelmed Montreal’s ability to provide housing and other public services, with the flood of new students alone equivalent to the opening of 13 new schools, he said.

Last year, 39,161 people used Roxham Road to illegally enter Canada, comprising 99.1% of all such border crossings, Sauves said.

By comparison, the latest figures released by City Hall on Monday showed that officials have processed more than 45,600 migrants since the spring, with about 29,100 housed in 91 emergency shelters as of Sunday.

Send all those immigrants back where they belong–living under a bridge in El Paso. That is the solution the Left really longs for.

Only states run by Republicans were supposed to be the victims of Joe Biden’s insane immigration policies. Now that the liberals have to deal with the actual real-world consequences of their fantasy-driven policies they decry the injustice of it all. It was supposed to hurt DeSantis and Abbott, not them!

Canada has remarkably generous immigration policies, but they are predicated upon immigrants being rigorously vetted to ensure that they will become productive citizens who will enrich the country. They look for educated and often wealthy immigrants, and are far less generous than the US in welcoming immigrants with few marketable skills.

So they virtue signal–see, we love immigrants–while ensuring that they don’t actually have to support many of the immigrants with services, as the US does. It’s actually a pretty smart policy, because it is driven by self-interest, not “virtue.”

When compassion is actually required of them–well, there’s no more room at the inn.

Never, ever take the Left’s celebration of their own virtue seriously. These are the people who fly in private aircraft to posh resorts to decry climate emissions. Their goal is to appear virtuous while raping and pillaging the economy. The only way to deal with them is to make them live by their own rules.

Can we start to have a real discussion about this problem? Now that liberals are being hoist by their own petard?
