When hypocrisy bites you in the butt

John Kirby is a smart guy. He is miles better as a spokesperson for the White House than Karine Jean-Pierre, but as a member of the pale penis people he doesn’t have the necessary qualifications to have the job of White House Press Secretary. The combination of immigrant, black, and lesbian trump mere competence.

Kirby is, instead, the White House Coordinator for Strategic Communications. Whatever that means.

The White House trots Kirby out when they need a coherent speaker rather than somebody who can fumble around looking at her notes. Kirby’s interview with Fox News on Wednesday was just such an occasion. It went so badly that I actually felt bad for the guy. After all, he is just a paid flack who is actually pretty good at his job. His job sucks, but he is pretty good at it.

Watch and feel bad for the guy:

The ostensible reason for the interview was the administration’s response to the equally gratifying and horrific protests in China against Chairman Xi’s zero COVID policy. The protests have gripped the world’s attention, as have the regime’s brutal tactics in suppressing free expression.

As you may know, Apple has complied with a Chinese request to restrict its Airdrop protocol that had been used by protesters to coordinate and communicate. This is a huge blow to their ability to protest the regime’s policies effectively. Airdrop gave protesters a secure way to communicate quickly.

Kirby was quizzed about Apple’s cooperation with the Chinese in suppressing free communication. Kirby’s response was perfect in its setup to expose the Administration’s hypocrisy.

Apple, you see, is a private company. They can do what they want with their platform and as a private company the White House has no opinion about their choice. The White House of course supports free communication between people at all times and everywhere, but their hands are tied. What can they do?

Yep. Right. The White House has no opinion about what private companies do to enable or disable people’s ability to communicate. I see. They genuinely love free speech but the fine folks at Apple can do whatever they like.

That’s news to Elon Musk and all the users of Twitter and Facebook. The White House, Democrats in general, and the entire MSM have very strong opinions indeed about what a private company can do or not do if it allows people to say unapproved things.

In fact, the position of the White House and the Elite™ in the United States, Europe, and all the Western countries about free speech is pretty much the same as China’s. They kinda like that restriction of speech, and don’t actually believe that a private company has the right to enable free speech for regime dissenters.

Ask Justin Trudeau about that. He sure liked using Emergency powers to suppress dissent through force and social credit points, restricting the movement of citizens and money in order to brutally break up free demonstrations. He, too, is putting pressure on Musk to shut people up.

Europe has threatened to ban Twitter unless it installs a draconian censorship regime. The whole idea of free communication isn’t so welcome in Europe. You can be 100%  sure that the White House is coordinating with the EU about pressuring Musk and Twitter to censor vigorously. Congress should demand documents related to that, as it arguably violated the 1st Amendment to do so.

And the White House has called Twitter a national security threat, threatened regulatory action against Twitter, attacked Musk by name, and is basically demanding his private company Twitter comply or face consequences. Because they want him to suppress dissent from their narrative.

Poor John Kirby is left practically defenseless explaining the White House position on Twitter. He made a lame reference to the tiny investment that a Saudi Arabian has in Twitter–the same investment he had before Musk bought the company. Nobody gave a damn back when Musk didn’t own the company, but now it is a massive problem? Hate speech? Damn, if people weren’t threatening conservatives with death a thousand times a day before Musk bought Twitter it was a slow day indeed. And, as we know, before Musk shut it down child porn was exchanged on Twitter.

No. The Western leaders are lying. Every criticism has to do with free speech. They know, it we know it, and Musk knows it. If Musk suppressed dissent from The Narrative™ all would be well.

Where are the reporters who sit every day across from Karine Jean-Pierre? Where is their defense of free speech?

Let me show you:

Our MSM is trash. Our president is trash. His press secretary is trash.

The Western Elite™ is trash.
