As cold and flu season gets going, and COVID infections have begun to surge around the world, the COVID fascists are gearing up to impose new mask mandates.

Canada–because of course Canada–is already seeing mandates reappear. Premiers in more conservative Canadian provinces are not giving in to the pressure, at least not yet, but the mandates are popping up and the debate is raging. The same vicious tactics are being used by the COVIDidiots, but with a twist. The RSV pandemic–caused by immunological deficits in children that accumulated during the isolation COVID policies created–is now being used as an additional excuse to keep kids unexposed to germs.

This is profoundly stupid–pediatric ICUs are getting filled up by children suffering from diseases that normally would cause less severe illness, and the solution is not to keep children permanently isolated from the world. But this is apparently the new normal for Leftists who benefit from creating hysteria and sacrificing the well-being of children.

I started poking around for news about mask mandates after I saw this tweet this morning, about a private school in San Francisco reinstating mask mandates. I assumed, wrongly, that only in a place like San Francisco could such stupidity be rearing its ugly head.

In San Francisco, where there still has blessedly not been a *single* COVID death under the age of 20, local private school Proof School — a place "for kids who love math" — has reinstated a mask mandate as of today due to "rising case rates."

In a country as large as the United States you can find an example of just about anything. Expect to find a few cannibals in a population of 350 million; I would assume that given the size of the population you would find an even larger number of mask fanatics than cannibals.

Apparently mask fanaticism is much more appealing than cannibalism, and more socially acceptable to promote. Go figure. But in a population the size of Canada you would expect a proportionally smaller number of insane people, but you would be wrong.

Canada is apparently the place where the transnational elite test market their evil plans, so that is where the mask mandates are popping up.

There’s a possibility Canadians will again face a mask-wearing mandate by the government on advice of medical professionals concerned about pandemic outbreaks.

For now, federal health officials and politicians are urging people to take their own precautions as virus cases increase and hospitals become crowded again.

Dr. Theresa Tam, Canada’s chief public health officer, is urging people to wear face masks indoors and continue following other public health precautions.

“Getting up-to-to date with vaccines and flu shots along with mask-wearing when used together can provide excellent protection against COVID-19 as well as other infectious diseases we may encounter,” she said.

Multiple layers of personal protection will be necessary in the coming weeks to reduce the impact of a fall surge of influenza, RSV and COVID-19 cases, she said at a news conference. She said that includes “good hand hygiene and wearing well-fitting face masks indoors and in places with poor ventilation, where physical distancing is not possible.”

A national poll by Nanos Research found up to seven in 10 Canadians would support the return of face-mask mandates in indoor public spaces.

Back when I thought the world was filled mainly with sane people I would have scoffed at the idea that 70% of any population would support the reimposition of mask mandates–especially after the reams of evidence that has surfaced about the damage done to children. I am now coming to accept that using reason and evidence are skills that are no longer taught in schools, and vast segments of the population have not mastered the skill.

The Left has been boiling the frogs, and only a fraction have had the wit to jump out of the water as it has warmed up. Compliance with absurdities has become a norm for many in The West, and the thirst for freedom and self-government has been drained out of the psyche. Florida, Texas, and a few other states are becoming the few places where sanity is prized by the majority of the population.

There doesn’t appear to be much doubt that pediatric hospitals are filling up with patients not because of COVID–they aren’t–because COVID is not much of a threat to children to begin with. It is other respiratory diseases they are catching and getting severely ill from, and all that severe illness is a result from children not acquiring immunity from catching the diseases earlier in life. God gave us immune systems to fight off infections, and the way immune systems work exposure to diseases is necessary.

In other words, COVID prevention measures meant to protect children from a disease not deadly to them have made children more susceptible to diseases that in fact are more deadly to them. And yet the COVIDiots are determined to double down on a policy that is literally killing children.

It is insane, but there it is.

To conclude, with a population of >13 million <20 year-olds in England, there were 81 #COVID deaths in the first 2 pandemic years; 75% had serious underlying/life-limiting conditions.

As I wrote yesterday the push to justify mask mandates for children is gaining steam, because as the evidence has poured out that children were terribly harmed by COVID reduction measures the medical establishment has taken hit after public relations hit. They will not stand for it, and refuse to admit they were horribly wrong. They will invent evidence and excuses, and double down on disaster.

Reality is no impediment to their propaganda because they believe–apparently correctly–that vast numbers of people prefer to be lied to than be treated with respect. They literally are willing to sacrifice children on the alter of witch doctor science.

At this point I don’t even know what to say. When a population abandons reason and decides that magical thinking is more comforting there isn’t a lot to say.

Crowds go mad. People invest in Tulip bulbs. Politicians believe that you can print money to create wealth. Young people vote for Democrats. It is insane, but it will pass.

At least I hope so.
