Ron Klain capitulates

Headlines are usually hyperbole. This one continues the tradition of exaggeration for effect.

But only sort of. Ron Klain, White House Chief of Staff and, some believe, the real President of the United States, came very close to admitting total desperation.

Only in a totally bizarro world would a person campaigning for his life ever brag that 12% of Americans believe they are better off, in a poll where nearly half the country says that they are personally worse off.

Almost 3x as many people say they are worse off than better, and he is bragging about it.

Because it could be worse! With Congress’s continued help the Biden Administration can destroy even more people’s finances, and if they redistribute enough income they can make another 1 or 2 percent of Americans better off.

Look at the chart Klain actually tweeted out as proof that Biden is doing a good job. Every line is moving in the wrong direction. And when did the trendlines go bad? Coincidentally, shortly after Biden took office. Under Trump the numbers looked better every day, practically. Under Biden everything gets worse.

Yet this is Ron Klain’s brag for the day: 37% of people are not worse off because of Biden! And a few are doing better! President Biden has yet to ruin every single person’s life, so be thankful for what you have. Pray it doesn’t get even worse.

Throughout this campaign the Democrats have kept up the mantra that despite everybody’s personal experience to the contrary, things really are better under Biden than Trump.

They have flailed this way and that. Crime isn’t bad. Inflation is transitory, or better yet inflation is just propaganda invented by Republicans to fool stupid voters.

Joe Biden is out there daily personally drilling for oil, digging up coal, and keeping the home fires burning. It is Putin…no Exxon…no Elon Musk who is making you take out a mortgaged to fill up your gas tank and heat your home. Believe the Narrative™, not your lying pocketbook.

For months Democrats compared Biden to FDR, and his Build Back Better was an accomplishment to match any that came before. Biden was the Best President Ever™.

Yet on the day before the midterms, White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain whimpers: only 3x as many people think they are worse off under Biden than better. And LOOK! some people think he hasn’t yet ruined their lives!

Please vote.

What must it be like to be at the heights of American politics only to look down upon the ruins that you have created? To know that the Biden Administration will go down in history as among the worst ever? Joe Biden, already in the sunset of his sentience, will watch the lights grow dim over a devastated America, knowing he is responsible.

Biden’s final pitch is even worse than Klain’s in a way: “unless you vote for me, I will become James Buchanan, the president who bequeathed a civil war to the nation.” Of course he is wrong, but the message is pathetic. It amounts to “my leadership is so awful that you may prefer the end of the Republic. Please don’t make that choice.

Presidents are supposed to lead. See through the desert to the promised land. Buck us up when we are down. Cheer us on as we win the race.

Biden can’t even pretend to be anything but a loser, and his hand-picked cheerleader who stands at his side can’t do more than tweet out “it could’ve been worse!”

The Democrats are in a world of hurt, and by that I don’t mean they will get destroyed tomorrow. We already know that.

Their problem goes much deeper. Their coalition is cracking up; inflation will take years to defeat; their remnant base is crazy; and their leader is senile and declining fast.

Yet who could replace him? Kamala is next in line, and a total disaster on two legs. She makes Hillary look charismatic. Mayor Pete? As charismatic as a cardboard cutout. Gavin Newsom? Perfect candidate to get 42%.

How about Gretchen Whitmer or Charlie Crist? They will soon be unemployed and available.

I don’t see one viable candidate to match up with any credible Republican.

Ron Klain’s capitulation is symbolic of a deeper problem for the Democrats. Not only do they have nothing to sell the voters this election or next, but they have no salesman in the wings to hawk their flawed products once the current crop fails.

Six years from now is a long time. That will be the midterms for the next president, who will be a Republican. That is sufficient time to recruit some decent candidates and find that salesman, but with a Democrat base so far outside the mainstream what could they have to sell? And who would the base let sell it?

Free castration for your child? More porn in schools? What will their agenda be by then? A euthanasia booth on every corner?

Perhaps they will regroup and learn from their defeat. It has happened before.

But for now, things look really bleak for Team Blue.
