After a long week of immigration news, from Kirstjen Nielsen’s resignation to reports of Trump urging border agents to break the law to POTUS publicly endorsing the idea of dumping illegals onto sanctuary cities, you might expect Stephen Miller or acting DHS director Kevin McAleenan to hit the Sunday shows. Not so, or at least not as I write this on Saturday. The White House will present a softer face with its two top spokeswomen: Sarah Sanders will speak with “This Week” and “Fox News Sunday” about the border crisis while Kellyanne Conway will sit down with “Meet the Press” and “Face the Nation.” Expect Kellyanne to be asked about these:

The most newsworthy guest on the subject of immigration isn’t likely to be anyone from the White House but rather Dem Rep. Bennie Thompson, chairman of the House Homeland Security committee. Thompson will be asked what Democrats plan to do to help ease the crush of asylum-seekers at the border, but he’ll also be pressed on whether he intends to hold hearings about Trump allegedly promising McAleenan that he’d be pardoned if he got into trouble for illegally denying asylum applicants entry into the U.S. Depending upon what witnesses like McAleenan and Nielsen say, House Democrats might not be able to resist lefty demands to impeach Trump over it.

Elsewhere, the 2020 follies continue. Cory Booker and Eric Swalwell will guest on “Face the Nation” and “State of the Union,” respectively, to discuss their campaigns. And Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale will follow Booker on FTN. The full line-up is at the AP.
