The most grimly funny thing you’ll see all day. “I was haunted by tweets every single day,” she says. All she wanted to do was her duty to the country!

Let me remind you why, reportedly, Omarosa was finally booted out of the White House by John Kelly.

Multiple sources in and outside the Trump White House told The Daily Beast that, until recently, it was common practice for aides to slide into the Oval Office and distract and infuriate the president with pieces of negative news coverage. Manigault, they say, was one of the worst offenders.

“When Gen. Kelly is talking about clamping down on access to the Oval, she’s patient zero,” a source close to the Trump administration said.

The stories Manigault would present to Trump, often on a phone or printed out, would often enrage the president, and resulted in him spending at least the rest of the day fuming about it.

The way she tells it in the clip below, she was the voice of reason trying to get Trump to put down his phone. In reality, if you believe the Daily Beast’s sources, she was the one winding him up. God only knows how many stinky presidential tweet-farts we’ve had to endure because Omarosa managed to get past the Kelly firewall and slip some news story to Trump that she knew would set him off.

As for her deep commitment to public service:

She worked in the Office of the Public Liaison, an important department — in theory — that’s charged with outreach to different constituencies to help build support for the president’s agenda. It’s OPL that’ll invite religious groups, business lobbies, etc, for meetings to try to bring them onboard with whatever the president is pushing at that moment. In practice, no one really knew what Omarosa did. Reporter Elaina Plott tailed her for a few hours inside the White House not long ago and couldn’t figure out what her duties consisted of, exactly. “No clue,” said a GOP source when asked. Her appearances in the media over the last few months mostly had to do with reality-show-style exploits, like getting in a shouting match with the moderator of a panel at a convention of black journalists or inviting 39 members of her bridal party to the White House for wedding photos.

Plott happened to be there on a day when Omarosa was hosting her fiance, mother, and eight bridesmaids for a bridal luncheon, held at the White House for some reason. How she suffered under President Trump.

To the extent that her “Big Brother” shtick isn’t (a) transparent pandering to the audience by presenting herself as a good guy surrounded by bad guys in the West Wing or (b) revenge on Trump for supposedly allowing her to be dragged physically from the White House grounds after being fired, she may be referring to her alleged discomfort at some of Trump’s pronouncements on race. Sources told BuzzFeed that she wanted to leave the administration after Trump’s “fine people on both sides” tapdancing after Charlottesville. But she didn’t leave, leaving us to wonder: Did Trump’s racial rhetoric bother her as much as BuzzFeed claims or was that PR concocted by Omarosa after the fact, knowing that she’d need to rehab her image before returning to a media universe that’s deeply hostile to Trump? To put it differently, having burned her bridges to TrumpWorld, what incentive does she have now *not* to say that she’s deeply worried about having Trump as president?

Anyway, Stephen “redsteeze” Miller is right. This was the only way the Trump/Omarosa saga could end — on a reality TV show, with one of them theatrically betraying the other.
