The storm is over but the crisis is not. This morning’s focus on the Sunday shows is, of course, Hurricane Harvey and how much it’ll cost to free Texans along the coast from the stew of toxic sludge they’re currently soaking in. Gov. Greg Abbott will guest on “State of the Union” and “Fox News Sunday” while Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner sits down with “Meet the Press” and “Face the Nation.” FEMA chief Brock Long will also appear on FTN. Early estimates are that Harvey will cost $190 billion, more than Hurricanes Katrina and Sandy combined. Fewer than 20 percent of Houston homeowners are insured against flood damage. Meanwhile, Hurricane Irma is headed towards the Caribbean and possibly an encounter with Florida or the east coast, with a chance of becoming a Category Five storm. The rest of Trump’s first year as president may be consumed with clean-up.

Elsewhere this morning, Jeff Flake will discuss what it’s like trying to cope with Hurricane Donald in his Arizona Senate race on “State of the Union.” And Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin will sit down with “Fox News Sunday” to forecast the odds of a clean debt-ceiling hike and to explain why, if it’s important to Republicans to preserve Civil War heritage in the form of Confederate statues, Harriet Tubman shouldn’t be on the $20 bill.
