"Thank you, Scott": SNL on Internet "slacktivism"

To cleanse the palate, a belated tribute to #BringBackOurGirls, #Kony2012, and a million other bits of Facebook/Twitter ephemera designed to raise awareness in the reader for 2.3 seconds before everyone moves on to the next hashtag cause du jour. This one’s harder to categorize than some of the show’s other recent bits of liberal self-mockery, though. It’s not a goof on the character’s politics, just his commitment. If anything, it’s subtly exhorting online activists to be more, well, active.

They spoofed the now infamous Pepsi ad this weekend too, but this is a better joke on the superficiality of much of “wokeness.”
