Comedy gold: When BBC interviews go wrong

A palate-cleansing classic that’s gone viral this morning on social media, so much so that the BBC uploaded its own recording to YouTube for sharing. The segment, featuring Professor Robert Kelly, was supposed to be spent on South Korean politics. Watch:

It’s perfect comedy. There’s the self-serious straight man; the swaggering two-year-old, strutting her stuff like she owns the place; the surprise punchline of the baby rolling in; and then the Kramer-esque entrance by mom, reduced to pulling the door shut from her knees as she struggles to control the chaos around her. All that’s missing is someone knocking the map off the wall on their way out or a dog bounding in before the door closes for a final spit take. Everyone’s timing is superb. You couldn’t script it better.
