Open thread: Sunday morning talking heads

Pity the poor 2016ers who were booked this morning expecting they’d be talking about the state of the race and whatever controversial thing Trump said most recently and now find themselves drafted into a serious policy debate about Paris, ISIS, and terrorism. The marquee guest is Ben Carson, who thought he’d be on “Fox News Sunday” responding to the claim that he’s “pathological” like a child molester and now will get a second go at the hazy answer he gave on Syria at the debate on Tuesday night. Elsewhere, Jeb will be talking Paris on “Meet the Press” and “State of the Union,” Marco Rubio will be talking about it on “This Week,” and Rand Paul, who’d rather be talking about anything but this, will be on “Face the Nation.” Oh, and don’t forget Barack Obama, who taped his interview with Stephanopoulos on Thursday and will precede Rubio on “This Week.” That’s the same interview in which he claimed that ISIS has now been “contained”; most of ABC’s viewers will be hearing him say that for the first time this morning — after Paris, making it sound even more nuts. Does ABC have the balls to air that bit or will they cover Obama’s ass by editing it out?

One other note: Greg Lukianoff, the president of FIRE and a longtime defender of free speech on America’s fascist left campuses, will be on “Fox News Sunday” after Carson to discuss Yale and Mizzou. That’s likely to be the most interesting, and possibly substantive, interview of the morning. The full line-up is at the AP.
