Open thread: Sunday morning talking heads

As luck would have it, both Donald Trump and Ben Carson are booked for multiple Sunday show hits this weekend after two days of polling in Iowa showing Carson ahead for the first time. If you want to watch Trump cope with the challenge of insulting a new frontrunner whom pretty much everyone likes, “This Week” and “State of the Union” have got you covered. If you want to watch Carson cope with the temptation of insulting him back while cooking up exciting new Nazi analogies for modern America that’ll inevitably dominate next week’s cycle, “Meet the Press” and “Fox News Sunday” are the shows for you this morning. And if you’re not interested in either candidate, the man whom betting markets now predict will win the Republican nomination — namely, Marco Rubio — will follow Trump on “State of the Union.” Will he kick Jeb Bush now that he’s down? Or will he go easy on him, knowing that Jeb’s five percent in the polls is destined to become Rubio’s five percent once Bush drops out?

If none of that grabs you, Trey Gowdy and Elijah Cummings will follow Carson on “Meet the Press” by bickering about Benghazi. Again. The full line-up is at the AP.
