Open thread: Sunday morning talking heads

After weeks of “Fox News Sunday” insisting that they’ll have on Trump only if he agrees to an in-person interview, the standoff (apparently) ends with a victory for Fox. The Donald will finally be Chris Wallace’s guest this morning. Expect Wallace to push for more clarity on just how much Trump blames George W. Bush for 9/11 and why three hours was one hour too many for him at the next debate. (Actually, Wallace has already said he agrees with Trump about that.)

If you’re all Trumped out, there are lots of other 2016ers on the menu. Ted Cruz will be the lead guest on “Meet the Press,” where he’ll continue to dance around questions about why he’s not attacking the Republican frontrunner. Bernie Sanders and Ben Carson will both be on “This Week,” representing the “ideologues who can’t get nominated” wing of both parties. And Mitt Romney will sit down with Jake Tapper on “State of the Union” to discuss … God knows what. Probably how much he dislikes Trump, particularly Trump’s comments about immigrants. The feud must be breaking Ann Coulter’s heart.

Actually, the most important chitchat this morning may come from Mike Pompeo on “Meet the Press.” He’s reportedly thinking of running for Speaker. Could Speaker Pompeo unite the two wings of the party? The full line-up is at the AP.
