Open thread: Sunday morning talking heads

Another week of 2016 fee-vah for the Sunday shows, with governors in the spotlight this morning. Scott Walker will lead on “This Week,” Chris Christie will chat with “Face the Nation,” and Rick Perry will guest on “State of the Union” to mark his campaign launch a few days ago. It’s a given that Walker will contend seriously for the nomination but I wonder which of the other two will make more of a mark on the race. My hunch is that it’s Christie, insofar as the nominee’s more likely to come from the center-right and he’s better positioned than Perry to affect those votes. If Christie catches a bounce from the debates, it could cut deeply enough into Jeb Bush’s or Scott Walker’s share of the vote to tilt the outcome somehow. As it is, Perry will probably be left fighting for righty votes with Cruz, Bobby Jindal, and other full-spectrum conservatives, any one of whom might have a shot at the nomination with an undivided base behind them but who’ll likely neutralize each other as they split tea partiers among them.

Lindsey Graham will also be on “State of the Union” to discuss his foolproof plan to win a national election after 15 years of war by promising more war. The full line-up is at the AP.
