Open thread: Sunday morning talking heads

Evidently Jeb’s going to cut his losses by not staggering out to the Sunday shows for another round of Iraq-apalooza, but no worries — three other 2016 heavy hitters are on tap this morning to field the Iraq question instead. Rand Paul, for whom this topic is an easy lay-up, will be on “Meet the Press”; Scott Walker, who issued a statement Friday saying he wouldn’t have invaded knowing then what he knows now, will appear on “Face the Nation.” And Marco Rubio will sit down with Chris Wallace on “Fox News Sunday” to discuss his foreign-policy speech this week and explain why he thinks the Iraq war shouldn’t have happened but wasn’t exactly a mistake either. That’s basically Bush’s position now too. Will Walker also adopt it in the name of hiding in a crowd?

Expect plenty of chatter about the Amtrak disaster as well, with NTSB member Robert Sumwalt scheduled for four of this morning’s five shows to give his theory of what went wrong and whether a mysterious projectile was involved. And if none of that grabs you, Paul Ryan will be on “State of the Union” hopefully to remind Mike Huckabee that math is math when it comes to entitlements, whether or not voters want to hear it. The full line-up is at the AP.
