I’m surprised to find that the Sunday shows this morning are not, in fact, wall-to-wall on the Israeli elections and how Benjamin Netanyahu is the worst person in the world. As I write this on Saturday, the only guests who are booked for their expertise on Israel and Palestinian are Israeli ambassador to the U.S. Ron Dermer and Palestinian observer at the UN Riyad Mansour, both of whom are set for “Meet the Press.” Elsewhere across the dial it’s mostly a melange of familiar congressional faces plus CIA Director John Brennan, who’ll be on “Fox News Sunday” to elaborate on his … interesting theory that ISIS jihadis aren’t Muslim at all. No worries, though: If the featured guests don’t end up dogpiling on Netanyahu, the ruling-class roundtables at the end of each show will.

If none of that grabs you, spend some time with aging former presidential candidates instead. Jerry Brown will be on “Meet the Press” to talk some polite smack about Hillary Clinton and Mitt Romney will be on “This Week” to discuss … I don’t know. Why is Romney still being booked for Sunday shows now that he’s definitively (kinda sorta) pulled the plug on running this year? Just a bid to stay a relevant? A ploy to talk up his soon-to-be favored candidate, Marco Rubio? Or does that stunt charity fight with Evander Holyfield really need the extra hype? The full line-up is at the AP.
