Any guesses which topic will dominate today’s Sunday yakfests? Hint: It’s not “Romney 2016.” Although it should be.

Nothing but Ebola, Ebola, Ebola this morning. Interestingly, it’s Dr. Anthony Fauci, head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, and not CDC chief Tom Frieden who’s set to pull a “full Ginsburg” by sitting for interviews with all five major news shows. Frieden isn’t scheduled to appear at all as of Saturday afternoon, an absence that speaks volumes about his credibility with the public right now. We’re in a bad place when Americans are nervous about a highly lethal infectious disease and White House spin doctors conclude — correctly — that, by all means, they should keep the head of the CDC away from microphones.

If you’re trying to choose which Fauci appearance to watch, I’d suggest either “Face the Nation,” which will have the heads of the AMA, American Hospital Association, and National Nurses United on to assess the health-care system’s readiness for an outbreak, or “Fox News Sunday.” Why “Fox News Sunday”? Because one of the guests who’ll follow Fauci is Dr. Michael Osterholm, the man responsible for a buzzworthy op-ed in the New York Times last month speculating that Ebola might very well evolve into an airborne disease before this is done. That’s a doomsday scenario potentially. Let’s see if he’s still sticking by it. The full line-up is at the AP.
