Obama: I don't watch the news because I usually already know the stuff they're reporting

C’mon.

Mr. Obama told supporters [at a Democratic fundraiser] that he doesn’t watch the news because, “Whatever they’re reporting about, usually I know.”

That contrasts with the explanations that the president and his aides have given from scandals in the past few years ranging from long wait times and deaths at the VA, to the IRS targeting tea party groups, to the Fast and Furious gun-running operation, and the Department of Justice spying on news reporters.

He’s been mocked for the “I found out about scandal X at the same time you did” BS endlessly over the last year, and not just by conservatives. Jon Stewart beat up on him for it last summer, simply because the comic potential in stacking one implausible faux-ignorant White House soundbite on top of another — scandal after scandal — was irresistible. The Free Beacon found enough material to put together a short highlight reel a few months ago. Maybe O lowered his guard last night and let the truth slip because he was in front of a room of Democrats but I prefer to think he’s now accepted that literally no one believes his excuses so he might as well stop pretending. Like Matt Continetti says, he’s in his YOPO phase.
