Open thread: Sunday morning talking heads

Wall-to-wall Bergdahl on the Sunday shows this morning, of course, with John Kerry tapped to be White House mouthpiece-in-chief on CNN’s “State of the Union.” Rarely are his interviews must-see but you might want to watch this one: Candy Crowley’s guaranteed to ask if he thinks Bergdahl’s being “swift-boated” by members of his unit. Kerry’s answer will tell us whether we’re now firmly in phase three of the fallout.

Keep an eye too on Dianne Feinstein, who’ll be on “Face the Nation.” The White House wants to frame the Bergdahl backlash as another tedious D.C. food fight driven by Republicans eager to find new reasons to bash Obama, but Feinstein’s complaints about Congress being kept in the dark are threatening that narrative. If she comes out this morning and criticizes the swap on the merits, either because the price paid was too high or because she’s come around on the “desertion” theory, O’s got a problem. The full line-up is at Politico.
